BIOWRAP focuses on the basics: identify the creator of the information using n-factor authentication; secure the information using strong encryption and hashing techniques; allow the creator to define access and expiration controls; identify the consumer of the information using n-factor authentication; determine the integrity of the information; record all activity.

Cloud Data Encryption
Cloud Data Encryption solutions can only be applied to data within specific cloud environments, such as Salesforce.
BIOWRAP®: The BIOWRAP encryption service can be integrated with any cloud service offering with the availability for encrypted data to be accessible outside the designated public/private cloud service offering.
Vaulting
Data stored in a third-party secure online vault is not encrypted. Limiting regulated vertical markets and enterprises from utilizing this cost-saving service.
BIOWRAP®: Individual and corporate accounts will have the option of storing their BIOWRAP encrypted files in their Accountability Report or directing BIOWRAP encrypted files to a hosted vault of their choosing.
Secure File Delivery
Secure File Delivery solutions provide a secure and simplified means for file sharing but do not secure the sensitive information, only the location where the sensitive information is stored.
BIOWRAP®: The BIOWRAP service can be integrated with existing file delivery solutions, such as YouSendIt, to provide the option for customers to have the BIOWRAP Central Service deliver a link to intended recipients. Currently the responsibility of delivery is on the creator of encrypted file as BIOWRAP encrypted files can be delivered by any electronic means.
Email Encryption / Secure Portal
Solutions for securing the transmission of digital information through secure portals or email encryption do not address the origination, certification, security controls and accountability required to meet increasing information security demands.
BIOWRAP®: BIOWRAP protects the file(s) however it may be delivered and can be integrated into existing solutions for increased data security and transparency.
Digital Signatures / Watermarking
Digital signatures do not protect the information and can only be applied to specified file types. Available market solutions for the certification of digital information focus on specific file types such as PDF or Microsoft Office;
BIOWRAP®: BIOWRAP serves to certify and protect all types of digital information. Encrypted files are stamped with the level of identity used to create the authoritative unalterable file. Authorized Readers can determine if they trust the source prior to downloading the native file or running the application.
Enterprise Content Management (ECM)
Enterprise Content Management (ECM) platforms support initiatives for managing the lifecycle of internal documentation. This enterprise approach to information governance can be a very costly and time intensive process that only serves to protect and account for information within the implemented enterprise.
